Description
This course teaches the AIX System Administrator how to monitor, analyse and tune AIX subsystems for optimal performance including the concepts, strategy, and implementation of the AIX Work Load Manager.
Audience
System Administrators who are responsible for monitoring, tuning and managing the performance of AIX systems.
Prerequisites
Students should be experienced System Administrators and have attended the courses AU14U and AU16U.
Objectives
On completion of this course, participants are expected to be able to:
- Distinguih between System and application performance constraints.
Describe how various AIX subsystems impact overall performance.
Use AIX tools to measure and analyse performance.
Identify and minimise software and hardware constraints.
Describe the concepts of Workload Manager.
Implement basic and complex WLM policies.
Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot WLM configurations.
