TIA's CTP certification is a unique credential that helps to address the current shortage of professionals skilled in convergence technologies, by ensuring that individuals are proficient in the industry-established skills necessary for meeting industry needs. Individuals can pursue important new job opportunities and companies can differentiate themselves to customers by using only certified personnel to sell, install and support convergence technologies solutions.

CTP certification covers three main areas: data networking, telephony networking and convergence technology solutions. The CTP Course offered at New Horizons is a five-day class that addresses each of the three topics listed above and prepares students to take the CTP Certification Exam. Students in this class will set up, maintain and troubleshoot a data network, a telephony network, and a Voice over IP (VoIP) network during the course.

CTP AUDIENCE
The target audience for CTP certification is anyone interested in pursuing or advancing an information or communications technology career.

Prerequisites
Students should have a good background in PC technology before taking the CTP Training course. It is suggested that students have their A+ Certification or equivalent IT-related work experience to adequately prepare them.

Acquired Skills
At course completion, the student will be able to Implement products and services in accordance with industry standards, Properly implement IP addressing plans, Verify IP configuration, Establish Voice-over IP (VoIP) requirements, Implement basic troubleshooting practices, Build confidence between manufacturers and end users.

Requirements
The CTP Certification exam must be completed within 75 minutes. The exam tests your knowledge of data network, voice network, and convergent network technology, including Industry standards and protocols, Infrastructure, IP Protocols, Telephony Concepts and Fundamentals, Voice-Over Convergence, Topology Convergence, Troubleshooting. The exam includes a random selection of 65 CTP exam items and six survey questions at the end of the exam. You must correctly answer 48 of the 65 exam items to pass.
